Devlog 3 - Very Small Update


Super fast update - I’ve added a web version to the demo page! My hope is that this will remove some barriers for people accessing the game. There’s also some semblance of a mobile version (also browser based! No apps, no downloads, nothing like that) in the works. With that comes a disclaimer - there will most likely never be a point where this game has full mobile support. Mobile versions are difficult to optimize and introduce a whole new host of issues during the creation process - ones that I can’t justify battling at this point in development. This is just a simple way to help people without pcs access the game - there are some of you out there, and I’m listening!

The browser version of Divine Omen has been fully tested and should work exactly as the downloadable versions on itch and Steam do - except, of course, without controller support, ‘cause…y’know, it’s a browser game. You can still control the cursor during investigation segments with your keyboard’s arrow keys, however!

One more quick fix that most likely nobody even noticed: Adding controller support in the last update caused some issues to arise with calling the game menu. In a standard Ren’Py game, you can quickly access the game menu by tapping the ESC key or right clicking with the mouse. Due to a conflict with the virtual cursor, calling the menu in this way resulted in an error, so I opted to disable the buttons until I could find a fix. Well, I have that now, so everything’s back to normal! On the off chance anyone is having the same issue, the fix is right here.
