Obsoletion (a gamejam submission) is officially OUT!

That’s right - the game I didn’t advertise at all and nobody knew about is officially out!

Obsoletion was created in just a few days for the Stop Killing Games Community Jam here on itch.io! You’re probably thinking, “K, what do you mean ‘a few days’? The jam isn’t even over yet (as of 7/16) and it was over a week long…” All these things are true, but I’m a busy guy with a big boy job! I only had roughly 3 days to put the game together before it was time to go back to work. I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to support a cause I feel very strongly about. I urge you to feel strongly about it too, and I hope Obsoletion can help bring to light some of the issues the Stop Killing Games Movement addresses. The obsoletion (yeah, get it?) of games over time due to incredibly preventable reasons is costing players their money, their time, and their trust in developers who should care more about the preservation of the fruits of their labor. With that in mind, I’ve attempted to make Obsoletion as accessible as possible given my time frame.

As it was made in such a short time frame, Obsoletion is a very short game - roughly 10 minutes in length. It contains roughly 1,000 words and 60 images - compare that to Divine Omen’s 41k words and 552 images - just in Chapter 1, mind you…yes, it’s a small game. I even opted not to include a save and load menu! It’s all for the aesthetic, trust.

As always, thank you for checking out my work and I hope you enjoy Obsoletion!
